Aboretum
Aboretum is a SciFi, 3D walking simulator focused on telling the story of grief. The once flying temple has dropped to the ground. The Goddess is nothing more than a statue, and the building is but a relic. The player is a small gardening spirit with no memory of the crash, who is forced into handling their sudden independence from their motherly figure. As advanced as technology is, life is irreplaceable- both sentient and plant alike.
The story is told through the rich environment and accompanying ambient sound, both contextualizing the history of the locations and inherent sadness the spirit is feeling.
I used Unreal, Substance, Maya, and Photoshop. My goal was to create a story through environment, textures, animation, and music.
Ringtail Railroad
Ringtail Railroad was inspired by my love for traveling and how joyous of an occasion it could be. I focussed on showing it through bright colors and cute animation. Most backgrounds were left simple as to accommodate props.
